Robby Younes, who holds the position of Vice President of Hospitality and Lodging as well as Wine Director at Crystal Springs Resort, is a versatile industry expert with a strong background in international fine dining and wine. During Robby’s career, he has catered private dining for former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, the Saudi royal family, United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, as well as over 30 top wine dinners. Robby’s experience and management training from the Waldorf Astoria, and exclusive dining rooms in the Starwood and Hilton chains, have prepared him for his dual roles at the Resort. He has attained Sommelier certification, as well as membership to the exclusive Les Chevaliers du Grand Vin. In June 2010, Robby applied for the Master of Wine certification, of which only 228 masters exist worldwide.
Just prior to arriving at Crystal Springs in 2006, Robby held the position of Director of Restaurants and Outlets at Copeland in Morristown, NJ, spearheading the achievement of ranking in the top 25 for “America’s Top Restaurants” rating by Zagat. While at Crystal Springs, Robby has brought the Wine Cellar of Restaurant Latour to new heights by bringing the cellar’s count to over 135,000 bottles, comprised of 9,100 labels and valued at $32 million. He successfully orchestrated the first annual New Jersey Wine & Food Festival for 500 attendees in 2009. This prestigious event is now comprised of over 1,000 attendees and offers a large array of seminars. World-renowned winemakers Heidi & Bo Barrett, and America’s premier Chef Thomas Keller were featured participants in 2012. Robby has worked diligently to take this event to a new level since its creation by partnering with organizations such as James Beard Foundation, Bocuse D’Or and Share Our Strength. He also created the Annual NJ Beer & Food Festival which has grown to draw about 1,500 attendees.
Additionally, Robby has executed high level dining events for many top wine and champagne makers including Veuve Clicquot, Krug, Dom Perignon, Chateau Latour and most of the Cult winemakers. One of his most memorable events was a dinner held for The Director of Château Latour, Frédéric Engerer, where Robby selected and served some of the world's greatest wines as well as a personal wine tasting for Krug Wine Maker, Julie Cavil.
Along with orchestrating some of the most successful wine and food events in the East, Robby Younes also designed the food and beverage outlets at the brand new Red Tail Lodge at Mountain Creek Resort. Within the new lodge, Robby has added five superb outlets ranging from gourmet slopeside dining to a patio biergarten, masterfully setting the new lodge on a level of its own.
In addition to his current VP responsibilities, Robby Younes still retains the position of Wine Director at Crystal Springs Resort. Upon advancing to this role in 2008, Younes immediately invigorated the Wine Cellar’s program with his passion and drive. Always looking to discover the finest and rarest wines from around the world, his aim was to not only have the perfect bottle on-hand for every dish served at Restaurant Latour, but to create an unparalleled wine collection which could be appreciated and respected for years to come.
